After a freak accident kills both of her parents, and her brother is landed in hospital, a 12 year-old Bonnie is lost and alone in a world of violence and hate. But after her old friend Serena, now 17, convinces her own mother to take her in as their own, their lost friendship is reborn as something more- sisterhood, and a promise to keep her safe for as long as they know each other.
