“It's so hard to forget pain, but it's even harder to remember sweetness. We have no scar to show for happiness. We learn so little from peace.” ― Chuck Palahniuk. Some people are addicted to sadness, addicted to the pain of wanting something I can't have. To the darkness that surrounds them. Just like any other kind of addiction it is self destructive. There are wounds that never show on the body that are deeper and more hurtful than anything that bleeds. All they know is misery that when happiness comes they don’t recognize it. Same way people can get addicted to other people, the feeling they get when they are with them. You get used to someone being there for you. Then they just leave. You feel empty. It’s the same as being away from any kind of drug. These kinds of addictions are just as damaging as any other.
