Los Angeles is a foreign place to Jasmine Black. It has beaches, it's hot, and it has no snow or ice. Even though California and her home state Alaska are both part of the United States, they're totally different.

As if completely adapting to a new climate wasn't hard enough, Jasmine has to learn to live with strangers, in a place that is like a parallel universe to her.
