Marine Mason, 15 year old freshman theater nerd, is a member of the ensemble in the school's musical. The theater nerds, are preppy rich white students - whom she tries to steer away from. Outside of theater, she is friends with rock band-loving, skateboard riding, "emo freaks". The struggle to keep the two groups away from each other is getting harder to handle when one of the leads in the musical buys drugs from her "emo freak" friend.
