The Outlaws; Chapter 1:

Cassie Petrova, who lives in the large city known as New York loses her mother to a jumping in a nearby alley on their way home. After her mother's death she is sent to live with her father in North Carolina, as she hasn't seen him in 7 years since her mother divorced him and he picked up his things and left. Cassie is still trying to obtain herself, as cope with everything that happened. Then she meets Travis. This stuck up country boy who got into some trouble with the law and is working for Cassie's dad. Not until then does Cassie start to see even though he is an annoying jerk, Travis and his story may just brighten her summer after-all.
