Ellie Villamar just came from Central America to the USA, everything seems well, She knows English, her dad has a job everything is good, at least for her. But things soon turn around as when she enters school not only does she not have any friends but a viscous glitter-loving nightmare named Mackenzie torments her everyday. Suddenly Evan comes along as her tutor and helper around the school. He is the only one NOT tring to avoid her. She already has many problems in her life. Her mom has muscle problems, they are poor as can be. They can't even pay a meal.
