Our feet hit the ground like bullets. Loud, hard, and fast. I could hear them still after me. I ran faster, heading for the strip of woods up ahead. I would lose them and never go back. I heard Rydel running next to me and Ellington next to her. They were holding hands, running together. I glanced at Riker and I took his hand. We ran too. If we weren't getting out of this alive, then we were staying with each other until the end.
