A familiar story of a shinigami giving their powers to a human will be told again. This time a new cast of heroes step forward. Sumiko Ishida must take up the role as Substitute Shinigami and discover what her powers really are. Meanwhile her friend Masakiko Kuchiki-Kurosaki must regain his while upholding his honour as a Kuchiki.
