Michael did commit a murder but believed You Would Have Done The Same. His resulting remorse and regret was a private torture he thought would finally end with his own death. It didn’t. He discovers himself suspended in a terrifying hell with infinite time ahead of him. To escape he must discover why he is there. He doesn’t think he could have done anything different. It was murder only in the eyes of the law. He wonders if the die was cast before he was born to his mother, Jos.
