I remember her face, the day before it all happened. After she saw "Faggot" written across her locker door in bright red ink. After she saw the lock on her bike broken and her wheels popped. After she was forced to walk across the senior parking lot with her lame bike lopsidedly rolling beside her. After they laughed at her. After Maeve O'Conner cried all the way home.
