Prologue

Shawn Mendes always had his opportunities handed to him, including his scholarship to pursue his career in accounting. Fascinated with his talent in singing, music is what he really wants to pursue.

Given 18 candles on his eighteenth birthday, he is compelled to make a series of 18 wishes on things that mean the most to him. Will he wish for a career in the music industry? Or will he stick to his parents' planned future for him? Whilst guided by his wise roommate who knows the treacherous ropes of college, Shawn realizes that his freshman year of college may be harder than he thought.
