13-year-old Angel Abberline and her brother, Adrian Abberline live in a cabin in the woods with their mother.

Angel has had huge dreams of being in a circus. She has posters of The Traveling Mystery Circus all around her room. But what happens when she wakes up one night, and hears a train in the meadow near her cabin? What happens when she discovers that it's the circus that she has ways dreamed of joining?
