Parents trying to provide for their family sell their youngest daughter to a rich man from England with a love of "exotic" things. While Cora goes to England from Canada to live the life chosen for her with a complete stranger, she falls in love with one Thomas Olivier. Who just happens to be a doctor that the rich Sir Benjamin Sutton has invested heavily in. After learning about the true desires of the ageing Benjamin, Cora is torn between the man she loves and a man her brought them together.
