After a winter of practice and living off scraps, Ruzi finally made her first real kill without any help from the older wolf Clovis. The pair had been hungry for weeks as spring began to appear high in the Sawtooth Range, but the thrill of victory is short-lived, for a wolf-pair is much weaker than a full pack, and something strange seems to be stirring in the Flat Lands to the west.
