The year, is 2080. 30 years after an event called the Collapse; a series of government shutdowns in many first world countries. Left to fend for themselves, some citizens have carved out a life for themselves while others are sadistic, murderous animals. Nicholas Santiago lives in one of the only towns left in Texas. After his father dies, he is suddenly driven out of his home. With the guidance of a few fellow outcasts, including his brother Tony, Nick learns the harshness of this new world. Though no amount of preparation can make Nick ready for the biggest threat in his life. While facing wild animals, bandits, and warlords, he also has an unseen enemy who operates from behind the scenes, challenging Nick at every corner. If he is to survive, he will have to throw away all morals and take men's lives to save his own.
