Prologue

I stared at my screen as I lied in my bed, trying unsuccessfully to stay awake. The words were starting to swim around on the page and my eyelids kept getting heavier until I finally gave up and turned off my phone, putting it on my nightstand as I shifted onto my side. Letting out a content sigh, I cuddled with my blankets and started to drift off into a half awake state. Right when I'm about to finally plunge into unconsciousness I heard a knock on my window. I jerked up and looked towards it only to find nothing there. I stared for a few seconds longer before I heard a knock again, which was when I realized it wasn't coming from outside the window, but from the inside of my mirror.
