Everybody knows about Ben Tennyson.
Nobody knows about Tobias Verendez, an orphan who has spent his whole life in an orphanage.
After Ben 10 is murdered in space, the ultimatrix falls to Earth, crashing into Tobias before latching onto his wrist, and costing Tobias his latest escape attempt.
When Ben Tennyson's voice starts speaking in his head, Tobias is certain he's finally gone crazy, even more so when he starts seeing Ben when nobody else can.

With Ben's help, Tobias leaves the orphanage behind, and the two set off for Bellwood.
With Ben's murderer close behind, planning on manipulating Tobias for his own purposes.
