Prologue

Odette Pratt is a hard-working young woman struggling to make ends meet. After the death of her grandmother, Odette's charmed life began to fall apart. Faced with the loss of her grandmother's bakery, a mother sick with cancer, and money-hungry brother, life is far from being easy.

After losing the love of his life to another man Elijah is determined to never love again. Unknown to him, his mother Gaby has other ideas. Her target is set on Odette and she is determined to see their relationship flourish.

When they meet both of their worlds are turned upside down. Odette is tossed into a world she never wanted to know; while Elijah struggles to let his guard down and open up his heart.
