"I can't."Sammy cried as she tried to pull her hand from Max's grip. "Darlin' you can." he said as he pulled her in front of him so she was facing the mirror. "You don't understand." she said as her deep brown eyes begged him to let her go. "You're right I don't. I don't understand how you think you are anything less than perfect. I don't understand why you refuse to let me close to you. I don't understand how you think you are unworthy of my time and attention, but I want you to understand all that stops today. I don't know what you see when you look in the mirror, but I am going to show you what I see." he said as he reached up to remove the black hood she wore constantly. Her red scared hand reached up and covered his. "If you really, truly care for me you won't do this." she said as her tears rolled down her splotched cheeks. The words were weak on her lips, but it was her last chance. "I am doing this because I really, truly care for you and I never leave someone I care about behind."
