Falling for the Goalie and Other Dangerous Sports - Intro

Maddy Gray, 15, thrives on soccer as a fiercely self-reliant center defender. Thrown onto a boy's team with a few female friends, she is set on making the affair strictly professional. But when famed, self-centered, and unbearably attractive goalie Derek Weaver catches her eye (or more so her head), things take an unexpected turn. Derek never even gave a thought to a love interest, yet can't help getting sidetracked in the chase for the headstrong Maddy Gray. Each hot-tempered and independent in a dangerous way, the two are constantly spitting fire at each other as the season progresses. Underneath it all, however, Maddy and Derek both know there's something that's pulling them together against their better judgement. Something undeniable and unavoidable. And Maddy only knows one thing for certain: this won't be a season to forget.
