He was nothing more than a whisper in the dark.
Crouching behind the fence.

She was a beautiful, untamed warrior
fighting with the strength of a lion,
even as her bleeding wrists painted
the floor scarlet.

They were going to beat her, whip her, cut her, and watch the life bleed from her eyes.

They had beat him, whipped him, cut him, and now I wanted to watch the life bleed from their eyes.
