Chapter One

Department secretary Emma Price is underemployed at her alma mater and considering an English graduate degree to boost her job prospects. Unfortunately, she had a short-lived fling with Eric Sanger, the new chair of the English department. He's a lightning rod who has as many rabid fans as ticked off enemies throughout the college. When one of Eric's foes takes their anger one step too far, Emma is a suspect, and finding the true culprit becomes a matter of life and death.
