Chapter One - Blue Muslin

It is 1805, and Dr. Stephen Byrne leads the rather simple life of a country gentleman and a physician. However, on a voyage to Jamaica, where he has been summoned to try to save the ailing Governor, he encounters Miss Rosalind Marlowe, the beautiful daughter of the indomitable Vice-Admiral Marlowe, and his life turns in a rather unexpected direction.
