Prologue

Maggie Staal, youngest of the Staal family, has moved to Carolina to go to college. Living with her brother again, she's excited for her future. She's ready to make new friends and take advantage of new possibilities. When she meets Jeff Skinner, they become very friendly, but do they see each other the same way? Jeff is new too and wants all the same things as Maggie. Does Jeff make friends, too? Or are his feelings preventing him from doing well in his new surroundings?
