"Come here." He says huskily due to being asleep less than a minute ago, I jump out of my bed and land softly in his, fitting perfectly against his toned front. His skin is warmed from the blankets and for the first time in a long time, I feel safe. With his chin resting lightly on my head and his arms wrapped around me, I feel safe. "I love you." He says, and I pull in a breath. "Nassa. I love you." He repeats himself, as if it were a realisation. "I love you too. Francis. I love you too," I kiss his forearm which is resting in the crook of my neck, and I fall asleep, with his words bouncing around my head, I've never wanted anything more than to hear him say that. I'm finally okay. Nassa Smith gets taken to college like any teenager fresh out of high school, in order to further her education and get a steady job. But she finds more than education and opportunities, she finds Francis and a forbidden world.
