After the Collapse the world retains none of the order that once defined it. Humans are thrust back into the Stone Age and there are no rules of engagement. Anyone could be a thief or a killer and the only factor that is common to all the survivors is a capacity for cruelty.
Fortissa Monday's job is to guide people through a dead city in a broken world to the Haven Hotel, one of the few remaining safe places. When a man and a child come seeking sanctuary from hunters, Fortissa is forced to face the evil that is now ubiquitous throughout the world.
