Sam Winchester is tired Lawrence, Kansas. It's not exactly small. It's one of the biggest towns in Kansas, actually. It's just that there is nothing for him there. As soon as he turns 18 he chooses to leave it, along with his father he doesn't get along with, his brother, Dean, and his high school sweetheart, Castiel.
