Welcome to Earth, many years from what you would call ‘now’. My name is Rebecca Roche, and I suppose now I am writing with the power of hindsight, from after this story. There’s no aliens, no ‘Planet of the Apes’ – rather, there’s two sets of humans. Not that I knew that. Little did I know how little I knew. Everything was about to change.
