“Love’s a cruel thing sweetheart,” he whispered to me as he wrapped his arms around my waist, nuzzling his nose into my neck and inhaling the scent of my lavender body wash. My breath caught in my throat and I stared at his half naked form through the full length body mirror we stood in front of. “It’s a cruel world,” I whispered turning around to wrap my arms around his neck. A smirk grazed his heavenly lips and I couldn't help but return it. He leaned down to my level and stared me directly in my eyes. “Then let’s make it burn.” Love is indeed a cruel thing, or so Allison thinks. After falling for her best friend and being shot down, she can’t help but feel empty and numb inside. That is until Dusty, her best friend’s cousin comes to town. He flips her world upside down and shows her that being who everyone wants her to be isn't always the way to go.
