To become mad; insane.

The plans didn't come as expected when the park was opened. The up to date massacre broke everyone, and the few survivors were only left with nightmares. The nightmares of being trapped in an island where predators from millions of years ago roam freely.

Was surviving one attack worth?

(Note: This isn't really based on the movie, it's different, though similar in some way.)
