Prologue

Merfolk were of the water as the Men were of the land. After many years of strife and conflict along the many shores of the seven oceans, young merpeople were taught to never be associated with a Man of any kind for danger of total exile. Likewise, human children were told to stay away from the false beauties of the Merfolk lest they be Tainted.

This is a story of two beings that, for a time, did neither.
