Chapter 1: Intruder

"What are you doing?" the man in front of me questioned, lowering his gun slightly.

"Packing," I respond almost instantly. "Because whoever you are, you're better than my parents. Wherever you're taking me is better than this gilded prison. And even if I only have the chance to be outside while you're dragging me out this door, it'll be better than watching the outside from my window everyday." I sigh and look at him. "Even if it's for a short while, I want a taste of freedom."

I grab my toothbrush and deodorant, I zip up my backpack already full of clothes and necessities. "Let's go," I say as I punch in a passcode to the shut down the security system.
