“Yes, I’m fine.”

“Yes, I’m fine.”

“Yes, I’m fine.”

Alecia constantly repeated this phrase, although it was a lie. The complete opposite of the truth.

Her parents divorced. Her grandfather died. Her mom moved to Florida and her dad moved to Wisconsin. Her friends abandon her.

She’s got no one to confide in, no one to talk to. So why try?

Until she meets him. Gavin. He was the only one who didn’t leave her after she gave him her usual answer. And after talking for awhile, she said something she’d never said before:

“No, I’m not.”
