System of Justice

When Dean Fenix wakes up, all he remembers is his name. He gets up from a hotel bed, to see that the doors, windows, and even the closet is barred up tight with wooden planks and nails long driven in.
Across the table, he sees a silver, unassuming pistol, and a piece of paper.
He reads this note aloud.

"This is your life gun.

This gun must be shot once a day, at a human's life.

If not shot, the life connected to the gun will immediately be taken."

And only then does he notice the metal band around his neck.
