Under the rule of the British Raj, India has a completely different atmosphere and as the British descend onto Indian soil it is apparent that order will be displaced. Order and stability within the Veda household is considered their way of life. So what will become of Maya Patel, the orphaned servant, who wishes to be nothing but a regular girl. Can that ever happen under the rule of Henry Williams?
