Prologue

In a realm where magic is outlawed, a young woman named Amelie is becoming a Hunter - a slayer of mages and dangerous creatures. Her instructor and friend Harkonnen has finally deemed her worthy of the Initiation, a mysterious ritual for the would-be Hunter.

Elsewhere, Eran, a scholar's son, discovers that his father is a dangerous rogue mage, and capable of unspeakable, incredible acts. How will he cope with the situation?
