Prologue

Leena Reynolds just turned 17,but her birthday was nothing to celebrate. Her mom died the day she was born under mysterious circumstances. Her dad left a few days later, leaving her to be raised by his cousin. 16 years of ignored video calls and false hopes of ever meeting her father has plagued her until she hears he is stationed at a nearby base. Leena runs away with her best friend, Caleb, and her cousin, Kody, to meet him. While hitchhiking, they meet a mysterious rancher who kidnaps them. Will Leena be able to save her friends?
