Description
Gino doesn't want to save the world. He wants a place in it. At six, he lost his parents outside the gates of Brown Bear Camp. A soldier brought him inside. For nine years, he has cleaned its filth, carried its supplies, and watched other people become soldiers. At fifteen, he wants his turn. Brown Bear offers criminals, refugees, and anyone with nowhere else to go a chance to earn a place in its ranks. Some commanders believe in second chances. Others believe desperate people are cheap. Gino knows how to keep his head down. Learning to fight, trust his teammates, and stand up for himself will be harder. Beyond the gates, the people who need their help won't always be the ones giving the orders. And coming home alive won't always mean they did the right thing. The world has forgotten a thousand years of its history. Someone has worked very hard to keep it that way. GATELESS is a character-driven dark fantasy about hard-earned strength, uneasy friendships, and finding something worth protecting in a world that treats people as expendable.
