Description
Meet Jessica Parker, a relatively normal freshman with a deep, personel secret. She's deaf, deciding to keep the handicap a secret to keep her independence and dignity. Soon she finds keeping her secret is a lot more trouble than it's worth, including a broken heart, lost friends, and feeling isolated from the sounds around her. Jessica's only true friends are a blind orphan named Jamie, who lives with Jessica and her mother, and Aurora, a deaf girl in Jessica's school. One summer day Jamie and Jessica stumble upon an injured skateboarder named Jacob, a cute funny playboy who has eyes for Jessica. Jessica feels the same way, and decides to tell Jacob her secret, but just before she does, Jacob makes a remark that makes her go silent. His remark is he won't date handicapes.
