The Before

Aless lives in a world of security. In the shimmering city of Novus, everything is taken care of for her. On her 16th birthday, she receives her work assignment, and must leave her friends and family. She must train to become a bioengineer, her assigned job. Aless is happy at training, until the night she is captured and forced to undergo a procedure. She meets others who have had this same operation and have developed strange abilities, including the mysterious Levi.
