Looking back, I can't even fully understand how this all happened. We used to have everything. A normal life, a normal school, a normal house. We used to be so innocent and naive, but now we're not. Now, we have nothing. We have nowhere left to go yet we've never been happier. How messed up is that? But more important: how messed up are we? "Listen to me, Frankie" He says, gently lifting my chin with his index finger. "I just wanted you to know that... no matter what happens from now on, you'll never fight alone. Okay? I won't let you" I sit up. "But why are you doing this? Why do you care so much?" I ask. "Because you're the only beautiful thing left in the world" He says, concern filling his eyes.
