At the age of 20, Hiccup and Merida get married. They were so deeply in love at the time that they thought love would last. Sadly it didn't and the two split 5 years later. They had a daughter at the time and she was 4 years old. Merida never liked her but Hiccup loved the kid to death. Hiccup and Merida took turns every week with their kid so they each had the same amount of time. Merida found a lover only a week after the divorce papers where signed and Hiccup is still single and raising a daughter on his own every other week.
