Prologue: Night of the Raven

In the northern lands of the Realm, lies the village of Tallowcross.
Across the river, the lands of the Skardaal lie undisturbed for twenty years, the ferry unused, the crossing banned by the King.
Then Rudi, a King's militiaman, takes a poisoned arrow in the shoulder, and it's time for someone to act.
