All Celeste Bellecourt wanted to do was runaway. And she did. She just somehow ended up saving the lives of once-fictional characters in 1984 Hawkins, instead of living it up in 2026 Chicago. All Steve Harrington wanted to do was leave the dangers of the Upside Down in the past, and to bury his trauma so deep that it disappeared. He couldn't, and so he's stuck being some sort of babysitter for a group of middle schoolers. All Eddie Munson wanted to do was to play Dungeons & Dragons, and maybe graduate high school while he was at it. He could've never anticipated that he'd get caught up in a real life campaign. All Billy Hargrove wanted to do was to ditch Hawkins and his abusive father for the California sun. But, somehow, he's caught up in some supernatural bullshit that he was allegedly supposed to die from. None of them wanted this, but all of them are stuck together. Not because of Vecna's hellscape leaking into their world, but because soulmates are real.
