Description

"I never found the appeal to the relationships that were bound to have a bad fall out or a messy break. You know, the ones where you know you're going to get hurt, but you let yourself get involved anyways because it's "like you're on cloud nine'' or "he/she always kept you on your toes". Why would anyone want to be with someone whom they know is going to break their heart and leave with everything they had? In those kinds of relationships you can both say you're "all in", but in reality, you should know they've already got one foot out the door. The worst of these relationships in my opinion, is the bad boy and good girl scenario. Not only is it cliche, it's unrealistic, but who am I to speak of these things like I know exactly what I'm talking about. I'm nothing but a 5'6" Senior in high school at Oakwood. I mean, sure I've got a 4.0 GPA and more involvement than Opera, but that doesn't exactly make me an expert because I'm not exactly Dr. Phil,or- well, Opera. I also think that Doritos are the Devil's food and chocolate milk should be it's own food group, so I guess my judgement is rather unique, and I guess certain events change people's judgement. I mean, some of us were raised to trust and love unconditionally and that everyone deserves more than a second chance because we all screw up, and the rest of us, people like me, are raised to have trust issues and find someone reliable rather than lovable because there is no pain worse than a broken heart. And so I've lived my life believing that a second chance is one too many because they shouldn't have had the chance to hurt you a first time." Clarity was a realist who overworked herself to the point of fatigue. All she ever wanted was success and happiness. Ryan was an optimist who believed nothing was ever so bad that it couldn't be fixed by ice cream and good company. When he intervenes in Clarity's life things change for the both of them, the question is, for better or for worse?
