Aimi had always been close to the royal Fire Nation family. The was one particular reason for this - she could bend light. Not fire, not lava, but pure, unfiltered light. Her parents discovered her gift young and paraded her around the capital until the Firelord finally decided to see what she had to offer. People fawned over the pretty girl who seemed to have created a new sub-element. The royal children were her friends and her family lived in wealth. And Aimi hated it. When after two years of banishment, Zuko returned for repairs on his ship, she saw it as the perfect opportunity to leave the life her parents had forced her to love.
