Everything has a beginning, not everything has an end.

Sherlock feels lost. He is 16/17 and feels everything is spiraling out of control. He doesn't see a purpose or point in life anymore. He wants to hide. His brother leaves when Sherlock needed him most. Sherlock learns that he is only safe alone. So he shuts everyone out. It's safer that way. Just him. Alone. With a blade.
