Chapter 1: The Trials

"You don't just halfway close a realm!" Metatron exclaimed, "Not without consequences! Sam was supposed to die completing the Trials- God had me write it in the Word. And now you're telling me he backed out at the finish line? Do you know what this means?"
When Sam Winchester ceases completing the Trials to close The Gates of Hell he unknowingly throws the realms out of sync threatening all of existence. Now his only choice is to consult the archangels who witnessed Creation including Lucifer, who Sam believes tortured him in. Can be read as a stand-alone or a sequel to The Real Reason.
