one day, her best friend, mitsuri kanroji, hands her a flyer to audition for this badminton event. the winner gets to play against the best from other schools in a friendly badminton tournament.

shinobu wins the auditions without breaking a sweat, and yet..

on the day of the competition, she goes up against a special opponent, giyu tomioka, who is a prodigy.
