Prologue

Adeline Mills was born of darkness - the daughter of Regina, the Evil Queen, and Rumplestiltskin, the Dark One. Her parents' love was twisted by ambition and magic, and when Regina cast the curse that tore the Enchanted Forest apart, Adeline was swept into Storybrooke along with everyone else.
But Adeline is not like them. She doesn't want to be feared, nor does she want to rule. She longs to break free of the shadow of her parents' sins and forge her own destiny. When she crosses paths with Captain Hook, the notorious pirate with grudges of his own, sparks fly in more ways than one. He should hate her, but something about Adeline makes him want to believe she can choose a different path.
